I saw someone talking about what they'd read so far in 2025, and though I've re-read a lot of my comfort series this year (as I seem to keep doing) it was interesting to revisit what I had read through.

A few trends, series, or standouts that I noticed when collecting this info from my Kindle:

  • I finished re-reading Jim Butcher's Dreden Files early in the year. Still fun!
  • Brandon Sanderson's most recent books are excellent!
  • Gentlemen Bastards and The Kingkiller Chronicles remain comforting.
  • I wouldn't say I loved Dungeon Crawler Carl, but I definitely read it all.
  • I was surprised to find that apparently the Ender's Game adjacent series have continued to be published since I was a kid. I re-read a few of my old books to see how it held up.
  • The non-fiction I read seems mostly to be around me trying to address my issues with my place in my workspace.
  • I've started reading through The Horus Heresy books from Games Workshop, again. I'm unsure I'll finish, or switch to the very much abridged reading order suggested by this post on Reddit.

The Covers
