What I read in 2026
Okay, let's go again. Here's what I read in 2026 - and hopefully I'll actually manage to write up some short-form reviews for these as I go.

A few trends that you may see, scrolling through:
- I reread the Dungeon Crawler Carl series to be set for the release of the latest in the series. It was pretty good! I had a good chunk of travel around that time, and it was good airport fodder.
- The latest Dresden Files are continuing with some of the recent painful twists revealed, and are rather good.
- The rest of the Children of X series by Adrian Tchaikovsky were excellent, continuing to have me staring blankly at the pages, trying to work out how you'd even start thinking about this stuff.
- I'm unsure quite where the Sandman Slim series is going. I hope Richard Kadrey is okay.
- The Empire of Vampires series is a fun read, with little bits of French just to make me get annoyed at not being able to speak it properly. I did have to stop reading it on a plane because it got pretty graphic, at one point, though.
- I wanted to read more Peter F. Hamilton, but missed and got back into some of the Polity books by Neal Asher - however, after reading a few, I realised how many I must have missed since I last picked it up.
